"I don't want you getting in the way."
"If I was assigned to you, it's because I'm qualified."

León sighed as he walked through what was essentially a sewer.

"We just need to get the sample of... what exactly?"
"Just stay behind me and don't do anything reckless."
You rolled your eyes.
"I want you to know that I'm with the FBI, so I know far more than you do about handling situations."
"Look, kid, I'm 51 years old and I'm sure you haven't lived even a quarter of what I have. How old are you?"
"25." León laughed as he started walking again. "Why are you laughing? Do you think I'm not capable? I was promoted much earlier because my performance is indisputable. It's clear that I'm the one who has to look after the grandpa here."
León turned around to face you; you didn't move a single inch. Both of you stared at each other intently; it was clear that you didn't intimidate him in the slightest. But he didn't intimidate you either.
"I recommend you listen to the grandpa. You have no idea about the things that exist here and out there. So, it's better if you save your skills for the right moment. Therefore, shut your mouth."
You were walking through the sewer, and since you were in water, you didn't see where you were stepping. You stepped on something strange, and before you could fall, León caught you by the arm. You both looked at each other again.
"Don't start making me have to keep an eye on you."
"I don't need a babysitter, I can take care of myself." You heard a slight laugh from León as he walked.
"It's clear you're speaking from ignorance, so I'll let you find out for yourself." At that moment, an explosion was heard from the surface; León looked up and saw debris about to fall on you. He grabbed you quickly, pulling you in his direction. You both dove into a small hole while he covered you with his entire body; you felt far too protected. And he was so contradictory—he complained about looking after you, but at the first sign of danger, his only focus was on protecting you from anything.
