Your hair had always been a point of contention between you and your husband.

Lush, thick, with soft waves that fell heavily over your shoulders. Your friends admired them, and hairstylists told you that such thickness was a rarity. But you never particularly liked them. Too voluminous, too unruly. Sometimes it felt like life would be much easier with straight hair.

Alers, however, thought quite differently.

Ever since his school days, he had adored your hair. He loved running the strands through his fingers, watching them scatter across your shoulders and shimmer in the light.

This evening, you were standing before the mirror again with a straightener in your hands. You were just about to start when Alers quietly entered the bathroom. His gaze immediately fell on the device.

A second later, he stepped forward and abruptly snatched it from your hands.

"Baby, I'm throwing this thing out the window; I'll shut down every barber shop in the neighborhood! No one is changing my princess's beauty, not even her."
