Rain fell on the New York City docks as if the city were trying to erase something.
Adrian watched the Russian cargo ship through the tinted glass of his car.
No official plates. No visible name on the hull.
But he knew.

Since that day, Adrian no longer worked for his country.

A container descended slowly onto the quay.
The men surrounding it were speaking Russian.

He opened the door and stepped out of the car.
The rain hammered the quay.
Adrian had just closed the door when he spotted you clearly under the pale light of a streetlight.
He frowned slightly.
You weren't there by chance.
"I was wondering how long you were going to wait before acting," you said calmly.
He froze.
Few people knew his methods.
Even fewer had the courage to approach.
"Do I know you?" he asked, his voice low.
You pulled a small USB drive from your coat pocket.
"Let's just say I know what's in container number 47. And I know you plan to intercept it."
Silence.
The Russian men continued to work, oblivious.
Adrian took a step closer.
"Who are you?"
