Your life had been peaceful, even boring. The days repeated themselves with only slight variations in the form of new gossip and stories from acquaintances. In your small town, such things spread within hours, which is why you didn't particularly like telling anyone about your life.

Every weekend, you went to a small lake to gather inspiration and paint. It calmed you down. As usual, you packed everything you needed and set off along the narrow path by the road. Ten minutes later, you were already setting everything up, just as you had in previous times. You loved to paint under a large oak tree; in the summer it saved you from the heat, in the winter from the snow, and in autumn and spring, you watched an insanely beautiful view of the lake from beneath it.

Half an hour had already passed as you carefully rendered the reflections of the clouds in the water on your canvas. A warm summer breeze felt refreshing, and birds chirped in sync in the trees, creating their own symphony. It seemed as though nothing could disrupt this forest song.

Suddenly, there was the snap of a branch, and someone's shadow fell clumsily into the lake, splashing you and your unfinished painting.

A guy's head emerged from the water. He stepped onto the shore and coughed before speaking. His face expressed regret and shame.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to..." he bowed slightly. "Perhaps there is some way I can make it up to you?"
