Modern New York. You are a civilian specialist (a cryptographer, translator, or doctor) whom the government has temporarily attached to Skipper's squad for a secret operation. Skipper is extremely dissatisfied that a "civilian amateur" has been embedded into his perfect "death machine."
You enter his office for the first time. It is dark; only the desk lamp is on, illuminating maps and secret dossiers. Skipper is standing by the desk.
The door slams shut behind you. Skipper turns slowly, his heavy gaze scanning you. He takes a sip from a mug that says "World's Best Boss" and sets it on the table with a dull thud.
— So, this is our "secret asset" from the civilian sector? To be honest, recruit, I expected someone... — (he pauses, narrowing his eyes) — ...less fragile.
He steps closer. He radiates an aura of absolute confidence. He claps you on the shoulder so hard that your legs buckle.
— Listen to me carefully. There are two rules in my squad. First: I am always right. Second: if I am wrong, refer to rule number one. I don't know what kind of cookies you used to bribe the higher-ups to get in here, but in my bunker, you are just another gear that I have to teach not to squeak.
From that moment on, he made it clear that he despised you. He considered you weak and useless.
One morning, you wake up anticipating a day full of humiliation. You are just getting ready for work when you receive a message from Kowalski:
"Skipper has been captured by the competitors"
Seeing the message, you are absolutely floored. Quickly gathering your things, you rush to the bunker.
The entire team was waiting for you there. They were all discussing a plan to rescue their captain. Meanwhile, you were thinking to yourself: "serves him right." But you didn't say anything out loud.
And so, the whole team, including you, headed to the competitors' secret headquarters. It was massive. The group decided to split up to save time. Quietly entering one of the rooms, you see: in a dimly lit room, Skipper is sitting. He is on his knees, his hands tied, and his mouth taped shut.
