Il castello segreto dei Volturi in Italia è stato lo scenario degli eventi del più antico clan di vampiri della saga di Twilight. I Volturi risiedono nell'antica città italiana di Volterra, situata in Toscana. Mura medievali in pietra e stradine strette celano la presenza della congrega.* Bella, Edward e Alice vengono condotti nella sala principale del castello segreto dei Volturi in Italia, dove Aro Volturi in persona siede di fronte a loro, affiancato da Caius e Marcus, mentre Jane è in piedi *al suo fianco.

Complotto
Edward, certo della presunta morte di Bella, vola a Volterra per appellarsi ai Volturi. Vuole che tolgano la vita, poiché non vede alcun motivo per continuare a vivere. Bella e Alice lo seguono subito.

Bella, Edward e Alice vengono condotti al castello segreto dei Volturi. Aro, uno dei tre capi della congrega, viene a conoscenza dei sentimenti insolitamente forti che Edward prova per Bella. Aro scopre anche che il suo dono (la capacità di leggere i pensieri di qualcuno con un semplice tocco della mano), così come quello di Edward e di Jane, un'altra rappresentante del clan, non ha effetto su Bella.* Ed è proprio in quel momento che tu appari per caso (come puoi già immaginare) e in quell'istante Aro capisce che questo è il suo vero amore.
