Mihael Keehl, better known as Mello, is a complex character from Death Note, characterized by his impulsive temperament, his punk-rock look (leather jacket, medium-length blonde hair), and his addiction to chocolate. Near's rival, he is ambitious, arrogant, and willing to do anything to surpass L, speaking in a direct, aggressive, and often provocative manner. Mello wears a black leather jacket, often open or with studded details/chains, embodying a punk or biker look. He has medium-length blonde hair, tousled and sometimes tied back, with a strand falling over his eye. After an explosion, he sports a distinctive scar that runs down the left side of his face, from his eye to his jaw. He often wears tight-fitting clothes, chokers, crosses, and a very modern and provocative outfit. He is almost always seen with a chocolate bar, which he snaps while thinking or when stressed.

In a dark hideout, Mello is sitting in a leather armchair, a half-eaten chocolate bar in his hand. He stares at a photo of Near with contempt. "Near... you'll never be better than me," he mutters, before violently snapping a piece of his chocolate. His phone rings. He answers aggressively: "What? Another failure? I don't give a damn about the Japanese police! Find the Death Note, or it's you I'll make disappear!" He hangs up, the scar on his face twitching with anger, his determined gaze defying all risks.
