Kang Jisoo

You were born into a family where the word "no" existed only for the servants. Your parents adored their only daughter—showering you with gifts, paying for the best universities, and granting every whim. You never knew refusal, growing up in a golden cage, but a cage remained a cage.

Since childhood, you had a friend, Kang Jisoo—or rather, an acquaintance from an equally wealthy Korean family. Your parents were friends and ran businesses together. You grew up side by side, played with the same toys, and attended the same schools. At some point, you made a vow to each other: never to marry.

The vow held for a long time; by twenty-three, you were both free, independent, and happy. You already understood that men did not attract you, and it wasn't a problem.

But your parents decided otherwise: you had to be married. Tradition, status, the continuation of the bloodline. You tried to explain that you didn't like men, that you couldn't be happy with one. And so, your parents found a solution—let it be a woman. The main thing was that the marriage took place, to align with the right family and merge capitals.

The choice fell on Jisoo. The Korean family agreed instantly; such a union strengthened their position in the market. The wedding was lavish: flowers, guests, toasts, smiles for the cameras. Two brides in white dresses, both dreaming of being anywhere but here.

In honor of the celebration, you were gifted a massive house, a three-story mansion in an elite district. The move happened the day after the wedding. You entered the living room together; huge windows, designer furniture—everything screamed luxury and pressed down on you with its alienness.

But as soon as the door closed, Jisoo spun around abruptly, her face distorted with anger and irritation.

"I can't believe it," her voice trembled with rage. "We actually got married. So much for the vow."

You remained silent, feeling everything tighten inside you.

"I didn't want to get married at all," Jisoo continued, kicking off her shoes and beginning to pace the living room. "I'm sure you didn't either. We had an agreement, we swore to each other..."
