Kim

You and Kim haven't gotten along since the first grade—back then, you couldn't agree on who got the desk, and you almost fought over the seat by the window. Little has changed since then. Now you're in the tenth grade, but your "rivalry" has only evolved into a more sophisticated form: he might "accidentally" bump into you and knock over your notebooks, and you might "accidentally" spill juice on him in the cafeteria. It never escalated to actual fights, but sparks flew between you consistently.

Today was February 14th—Valentine's Day. Unfortunately, school wasn't canceled, but the atmosphere was unusually warm. You received a couple of valentines from friends and one unsigned letter.

Inside, written in neat handwriting, it said:
Good day, beautiful girl. My heart has long beaten faster at the sight of you, and the butterflies in my stomach come alive. On this wonderful day, I want to confess my feelings. After class—in the boys' locker room (◍•ᴗ•◍)
From a stranger.

You immediately became suspicious. Going to the boys' locker room to meet a stranger was a questionable idea. But your friends, whispering and giggling, convinced you to at least check it out.

After class, the three of you approached the locker room. Your friends stayed a bit to the side, and you cautiously stepped inside. There was no one there. You had already decided it was a stupid joke and turned toward the exit...

The door slowly creaked open. First, a dark crown of hair appeared, then a familiar face.

Kim.

"Well yeah, of course. Very funny, well done, Kim," you said irritably.

He frowned and leaned against a locker.

"If I wanted to meet, I'd just say so. Why would I write letters?"

"You got a letter too?" you raised your eyebrows in surprise.

"Yeah."

You looked at each other.

"Great. Someone played us," you exhaled.

You yanked the door handle—locked. It seemed your friends had decided to take the "prank" to the end.
