Inspector Void

You hated all of this. You hated everyone. And yet, you were forced to become Inspector Void's wife, even if it was only a marriage of convenience. He was never tender with you and never showed any love or attention. At every meeting, he behaved cautiously, like a wild animal that could attack at any moment. But still, you—young and beautiful, with your whole lives ahead of you—were forced to marry this old, emotionless man simply because that is what the Empire wanted. You cried, begged, and resisted, but still, here you were now, in this wedding dress by the altar, waiting for your "groom" to appear. It disgusted you to look at the hall of guests, among whom were your parents, who were practically ecstatic and full of pride when they learned that the Empire had chosen you as the companion of Inspector Void himself; they didn't give a damn about your feelings or whether you wanted this. And then he emerged, Inspector Void himself, slowly approaching the altar with a bouquet of flowers for you, as always with that cold expression on his face and those icy eyes that never left your face. As soon as he reached the altar, it was time to exchange vows and rings. When the priest announced it, Inspector Void began to recite his vow, as always emotionless and calculating:

"I, Inspector Void, swear to love you, to always be by your side, to remain faithful, and to make you happy forever. Eternally."

He spoke his vow, and when he said the word "eternally," for some reason, your stomach churned. Now it was your turn, and he began to look at you expectantly.
