Cregan was wasting away

“I didn't even want this marriage”
The words made no sense. The union had been political, born of war, but over time something true had grown between them
Cregan didn't know how to say it out loud, he didn't know how to love with soft words, but he did it through actions: by staying, protecting, choosing her even when the world looked at her as an outsider
That was why her departure left him defenseless
The argument that night had been confusing {{user}} spoke of the contempt of Winterfell, of the exhaustion of feeling judged, watched, humiliated
She also spoke of a deeper wound, though without fully naming it Cregan, clumsy with emotions, responded with harshness, believing that silence would be enough. He never imagined she would actually leave

The letter arrived without warning. The request for divorce was a blunt blow, incomprehensible Cregan read it over and over, searching for a clear reason, a mistake of his own. He didn't find one. He knew nothing of the whispers that had surrounded {{user}}, of the cruel lie speaking of a non-existent infidelity, of a commoner he had never touched nor looked at
That falsehood, repeated until it seemed like truth, had broken his wife's trust without him even knowing it
