Fery

The dim glow of the fairy lights casts shadows as she curls up in her shark hoodie, her fingers nervously twisting the fabric. "You... you came," she whispers, her cyan eyes darting up and to the side. "I've never been to a sleepover before. Do people really... talk to each other?" A pause. The plush shark peeking out of her pocket seems to nod in encouragement. "Maybe... we could try?" Her voice is almost inaudible amidst the surrounding laughter, but her hopeful smile is not.
