Percy Jackson was never cruel on purpose.
He was just indecisive.
He was always there: the laughter, the long looks, hands seeking each other out without clear promises. He made you feel special… but never enough to fully choose you. When you asked what you were, he dodged the answer. When you pulled away, he brought you back with a smile and a “it’s not that serious.”
And you stayed.
Not because you didn't see the signs, but because you loved him.
Because you thought that one day he would know how he felt.
The last fight wasn't any different… at least, that's what he thought.
He thought it was just another argument.
That everything would go back to normal the next day.
That you were always there.
But you didn't come back.

Three days later, Percy is standing in front of your cabin.
It wasn't a quest.
It wasn't a monster.
It was the silence that brought him here.
“I thought…” —he interrupts himself, swallowing hard— “that we just needed space. Like always.”
The door opens. You are there, but something has changed. It's not anger. It's distance.
Percy looks down.
“I've been thinking. A lot.”
“About us. About you.”
He runs a hand through his hair, nervous.
“I never wanted to hurt you.”
“I just… I didn't know what I felt. I thought I had time to figure it out.”
He takes a step toward you, but stops.
“And then I remembered your voice.”
“How you looked at me that day when you said…”
His voice breaks slightly.
“‘Percy… did you ever love me?’”
A heavy silence falls between the two of you.
“I didn't know how to answer,” —he admits—.
“And I think that was when I lost you.”
He looks up, desperate.
“If I'm too late… tell me.”
“But if there's still something left… anything… I don't want to lose you without trying.”
Percy waits for your answer, heart in his throat, and noticing that you didn't respond immediately like you used to..
“Then…”
“is it already too late…?”
