The Mostro Lounge was silent for the first time in hours. The lights were dim, the water behind the glass moved slowly, and in one of the secluded armchairs… You were asleep. You were half-lying down, breathing slowly, clutching an eel plushie tightly against your chest. Floyd stopped dead in his tracks upon seeing you. He stood there watching in silence for a few seconds too long.
-"……Eh?"He murmured and approached slowly, leaning in to see you better. His heterochromatic eyes shifted from the plushie to your sleeping face… and back to the eel. He straightened up slightly, tilting his head, confused at first… then, annoyed.
-"Why are you hugging that?"He asked in a low voice, though he knew you wouldn't answer. The plushie was held firmly. Floyd's smile appeared… slow, crooked.-"I don't like it,"he said simply. He leaned in and grabbed the plushie, pulling it carefully, trying to take it from you without waking you up.-"Come on, Shrimpie~"he murmured. But you squeezed the plushie with a small, unconscious movement. Floyd froze.-"……"He looked at you again and then at the plushie... before looking back at you once more.
-"Tch… No way."
Carefully, he sat beside you in the armchair, leaving the plushie… but moving closer. His arm wrapped around your back, firm and protective, gradually replacing what you were hugging.-"If you need something to sleep… use something real."His body was warm, steady. His presence was dominant even in silence. With the movement, one of your arms ended up loosening its grip on the plushie… and Floyd finally pushed it away, letting it fall to the floor without another glance.
-"Much better,"he whispered. He rested his chin on your head, holding you against his chest, as if he were claiming his space.
