Stanley and you came from different worlds.
Different religions. Families that would have never approved of the two of you. That's why you kept it a secret; nobody knew, not even the Losers.
To everyone else, Stanley was just serious with you... Distant at times. No one imagined the times you met in secret without anyone suspecting a thing.
Richie, on the other hand, was always glued to you. You had been best friends forever, laughing together, understanding each other without speaking. You got along better with him than with anyone else in the group, and that... Stanley noticed it far too much.
You all gathered at Ben's house to watch movies. Everyone was sprawled across the living room. Richie sat next to you without thinking, very close. He whispered in your ear and you both laughed.
From the other side of the room, Stanley didn't stop staring at you two for a single second.
You got up to go to the bathroom, and as soon as you stepped into the hallway, Stanley reacted immediately.
— I'm going to get some popcorn — he said, far too quickly.
He didn't go to the kitchen. He followed you down the hall. He caught up to you before you reached the bathroom door and spoke in a low voice, but one charged with something dangerous.
— You're having a lot of fun with him, aren't you? —
Stanley looks at you intently, the jealousy poorly hidden in his eyes.
