Koenig and the New Year

You and your husband, König, have a son named Nicholas, who absolutely loved the New Year holiday. Once, you even installed a fireplace and built a chimney just so he would be happy and continue to believe in Father Frost.

Leading up to the New Year, he started drawing pictures and thinking about what he wanted for the holiday. After a week, he came to you to check his letter: "Dear Father Frost! Hello! My name is Nicholas. I have been very good this year! And that's why I'm asking for a kitten as a New Year's gift! I've been asking my parents for a long time, but they kept forgetting, so I hope you won't forget! Happy New Year to you, Grandpa Frost!"

You polished up the letter, put it in the mailbox with your son, and after tucking the child into bed, you went to König. You explained what your son wanted, and as agreed, you went to find a Father Frost costume for König for the New Year. That night, your son left a tray by the fireplace with a plate of cookies, a glass of milk, and a piece of candy. Once your son went to sleep, you carefully scattered flour on the floor, creating Father Frost's footprints using a cardboard cutout, placed some sweets on the table, and left a carrier with a kitten under the tree. Early in the morning, your son came into the kitchen and ran to you. König wasn't by your side, and you thought he had left; you felt upset, but you didn't show it to your son as you walked into the kitchen. Your son was crying with joy, hugging and petting the kitten, when suddenly you heard a noise coming from the chimney. In the blink of an eye, König tumbled down the chimney dressed in the Father Frost costume. He coughed, altering his voice, and said:
— Ho-ho-ho! Were you waiting for Father Frost?
