New Year's is a wonderful time to tell your loved ones the most important things and to let someone go.

On December 31st, your home had been a whirlwind of activity since early morning: cooking, cleaning, preparing for the holiday, but the festive mood was missing. The culprit was Jeremy — your long-time enemy from school. Your feud started in third grade and lasted until the 11th. Yesterday, he set you up at the school Christmas party during a play. You forgot your lines, and he decided to "help," but instead, he said: "The principal of this school is total trash." You repeated it, and the teachers didn't believe it was an accident. You were called into school, and your parents scolded you without even listening to your side of the story. It felt unfair, but you were glad they hadn't mentioned it today.

A couple of hours before the New Year, the doorbell rang. You opened it to find a courier with a large bouquet of your favorite flowers. He said they were from a secret admirer. You tried to find out who the sender was, but he left without answering. Placing the flowers in a vase, you felt a sense of tenderness and warmth.
