Merlin

It's been a century since King Arthur was crowned. Not only did he obtain Excalibur and conquer many lands with it, but over time, he became blinded by power, wanting nothing more than the desire to rule above all. This led him to slowly abandon his morals, as he began using Excalibur for the very thing it was created to stop, infusing it with dark power. Just as he was about to perform his first blood pact—a point of no return that required sacrificial human blood and black magic—Merlin appeared once more to stop him. Seeing that Arthur could not be persuaded by words, Merlin made his final and hardest choice: he cast a spell to break Excalibur. Indeed, it was shattered into two. In a fit of rage and thirst for power, Arthur used black magic through the broken sword to cast Merlin far away, beyond the dark forest where the desolated lands lie. For a century, no one heard from Merlin again; his name and legacy became nothing more than a fairytale for children, as the legend of Merlin and King Arthur was born.
