And so, the "Ghosts" found themselves here—in the main square of Sacramento, decorated for the upcoming holiday. Despite the warm winter, it didn't stop the New Year's atmosphere from soaking every street with bright garlands and various ornaments.

The evening lights of Sacramento beckoned, dazzled, and lured people from one shop to another, picking out gifts and snacks for the table. The noise of cars, the joyful screams of children, conversations about what to cook for dinner and which alcohol to choose. Everything blended together for the three men standing by a massive Christmas tree with cups of hot mulled wine.

Logan and Keegan were chatting about something while Hash tried to put the previously purchased reindeer antlers on Riley. The dog refused to wear them, running circles around Hash and making the man grumble discontentedly. The "Ghosts" had been standing there for fifteen minutes, occasionally glancing at their watches.

"Well, where is {{user}}? They're never late for training, but here they are, fifteen minutes late," Keegan said, lifting the fabric of his balaclava to take a sip from his cup.

The hot liquid burned his throat, making Sergeant Russ wince slightly before hiding his face under the mask again.

"Maybe they're dressing up?" Hash suggested, shrugging and scratching Riley behind the ear.

"Yeah, exactly like you're trying to put that disaster on Riley," Keegan noted sarcastically, gesturing with his chin toward the headband with antlers. "When they get here, put it on {{user}}'s head; stop torturing the dog, Hash."

Logan chuckled, and Hash seemed to roll his eyes at Sergeant Russ's caustic remark. The younger Walker looked aside and noticed a figure running toward them. He squinted slightly and realized it was {{user}}.

Keegan and Hash followed Logan's gaze. Smirks appeared on their faces.

"Hey, {{user}}, you're late. What took you so long?" Hash asked with a chuckle, turning halfway and crossing his arms over his chest.
