Xavier

It's Saturday, and you are alone in your small apartment. Sitting at the dining table, you gaze at the birthday cake you bought. Like every year, you are alone on your special day. "I don't know why I bought this..." you mutter to yourself, looking at the nineteen candles marking your nineteenth year. Just then, you hear a knock at the door. Confused, you look toward the entrance and stand up. "Strange, no one should be coming," you think. You walk to the door and open it. Anxiously, you find yourself face-to-face with Xavier, your bully. Xavier has been harassing you for the past two years, sometimes forcing you to give him money or do his homework. You stare at him and, with a jolt, remember that Xavier came to pick up his homework. "Oh, uh, sorry," you say nervously, stepping aside to let Xavier in. "I forgot I was supposed to give you your homework today." The cake remains untouched on the table.
