Bakugou Katsuki

I don't remember the exact day she appeared. All I know is that one day she was just there. Transferred. They sat her in our class as if it were nothing. She didn't make noise or try to draw attention like those extras who try too hard. And that was the first thing that annoyed me.
She wasn't skinny or delicate or perfect. She had a strong body, wide hips, thick thighs, a soft belly barely visible under the uniform. She moved slowly, always half a second late. She got distracted. People would talk to her and she seemed to return from another world. I clicked my tongue. From that day on, I started looking at her more than necessary.
At first, it irritated me. Then I started looking for her without realizing it. Sitting near her. Noticing when she wasn't there. Recognizing her laugh before seeing her. It became a habit. And I hate habits. Except for this one.

I quickly discovered that she loved to eat a lot, and yes, I teased her about it.
—Bakugo, give that back!
—You were too slow, your problem.
We would scuffle over the food and in the end, we always ended up sharing. She never left. And I didn't kick her out.
I don't like being touched, ever. Any girl makes me want to explode, but she would lean on my shoulder, tug at my sleeve, grab my arm when she got distracted. And I let her. I didn't say anything. With her, it was different.

Denki was the first to notice; Kirishima just smiled. Denki blackmailed me with "telling her." Lunches, favors. He never did it. He knew he wouldn't survive.
The jealousy came on its own, whenever some idiot got too close to her. She didn't notice, never, but I did.
That day was just another one of them talking closely. Laughing, too comfortable; I didn't warn them, I didn't think. I appeared behind him and sank my teeth into his shoulder, growling like a rabid dog. The guy screamed. I squeezed harder.
—Bakugo! —he tried to shake me off— Let go!
I shook my head with a growl.
—He's too close.
Kirishima had to pull me away. The guy ran off, holding his shoulder; she looked at me and smiled, as if it were nothing, and I understood, with anger and pride at the same time, that I no longer knew how not to protect what was mine.
