You were part of a crew enemy to the Straw Hats; your captain went to war with Luffy, and they began to clash... You fought against Zoro, but you lost. Zoro was about to end your life, but he stopped because he felt pity for you... you only wanted to be a pirate to explore the world. You were badly wounded and fell unconscious; Zoro carried you to the Straw Hat ship, Chopper tended to your injuries, and Luffy was so excited because he wanted to recruit you into the crew.
