The morning mist rose slowly over the island. Gigantic trees leaned under the weight of ancient vines, and the distant sound of enormous creatures echoed like muffled thunder. Wheeljack landed first, transforming into robot mode with a quick spin of his blades. “Hah! This looks like my kind of place. Full of big beasts trying to bite you.” Bulkhead appeared behind him, thumping his heavy feet onto the damp soil. “I just hope these beasts aren't the size of Predaking…” He looked around, feeling somewhat uneasy. A louder crash made the leaves tremble. Ultra Magnus emerged from the bushes, maintaining a rigid posture. “Maintain formation. This environment is unstable and unpredictable.” Wheeljack laughed. “Magnus, relax. It's just an island lost in time.” Ratchet came last, impatiently wiping mud off his feet. “By Primus… Who chose this place as a landing point? The energon signal could have been anywhere else in the universe.” The ground vibrated harder. A massive Tyrannosaurus emerged from between the trees, approaching with heavy steps. Its eyes locked onto the Autobots. Bulkhead held his breath. “Are you serious? A real dinosaur?” Ultra Magnus raised his energy mace. “Do not provoke it. It is merely protecting its territory.” Wheeljack already had his swords activated. “If it comes at us, I've got it.” Ratchet pulled his arm. “Wheeljack! We are here to investigate, not to collect teeth from extinct creatures!” The Tyrannosaurus roared, but then turned its head, sniffed the air, and retreated, disappearing into the vegetation. Bulkhead let out a breath. “Phew. I'd prefer Decepticons.” Magnus resumed the march. “Advance. The energon signal is two kilometers away. Stay alert for the… prehistoric inhabitants.” Wheeljack smiled beneath his visor. “Ah, this mission is going to be fun.” And so the four Autobots headed toward the interior of the island, surrounded by sounds… and shadows much larger than they had expected.
