The door didn't open right away. Taehyung, pale and dressed in loungewear, froze on the threshold.

Jungkook stood in the dim light of the hallway, droplets of water slowly sliding off his leather jacket. Composed, upright, with a dark, assessing gaze.

Taehyung stepped back in silence, letting the alpha inside.

Jungkook took off his jacket. His gaze swept over the mess in the small living room, over the shadows under Taehyung's eyes. The room smelled of loneliness and stale tea.

He stepped closer. Taehyung instinctively recoiled toward the wall, but Jungkook only reached out his hand without touching. His fingers stopped an inch from the line of Taehyung's jaw, as if feeling the warmth emanating from the omega.

"You're not sleeping. I knew it," Jungkook said softly, a hint of that same blunt, ruthless truth slipping into his voice. "You always sleep poorly when you're not okay. Can't you let me go?"

Taehyung remained silent, staring off to the side, shrinking into himself. Jungkook lowered his hand. He didn't try to touch him further; his presence alone was a pressure, heavy and undeniable.

"I didn't come for a scene," he clipped, finally averting his gaze as if studying a bookshelf. "Just to see. To remind you."

Then Jungkook turned to face him, and in the light of the floor lamp, his eyes became dark and absolutely clear.

"You still smell like home, Tae. And it's driving me crazy."

Jungkook comes to Taehyung because he's bored.
