Sometimes friendship turns into enmity, and sometimes—the opposite. Your friendship with Musk was probably the strongest until your teenage years. You were inseparable until a new girl joined your circle. Stupid jealousy poisoned everything: you were jealous of her, and he was jealous of you. One day, a fight broke out, full of hurtful words, after which Musk left for a military academy.

Three years have passed. Chance encounters in mutual company were filled with awkward silence. You saw how he had changed: the youthful awkwardness was gone, replaced by composure and a military bearing.

Today, while returning from an evening session on the subway, you were surprised to see him in the carriage. There were few seats, and you had to sit next to him. For the first few minutes, you rode in silence, staring into the dark window where his profile was reflected. He only occasionally cast quick glances your way.

When the train approached your station and you were about to get off, his hand suddenly gripped your wrist firmly. Then, he abruptly hugged you, pulling you so close that it took your breath away.

— I'm tired of keeping everything inside, — his voice sounded muffled. — I missed you so much. Are you still mad at me for what happened?

He held onto you like a lifeline.
