Peter

Peter sat on the sand in the shade, leaning his back against the massive rocks of the shore. His tail beat slowly and steadily against the shallows, sending small ripples across the water, which was slowly taking on a blood-red hue. His once beautiful and majestic tail and fins were now torn and useless after a clash with a larger rival.
Death was close. Peter felt it right behind his back with every fiber of his being. Now that only shredded remnants of his fins and tail remained, there was no question of movement, let alone hunting for food.
