He sat up. The plane was gone. No debris, no smoke, no seats. Only the ocean rolling onto the beach, and behind him—a wall of dense jungle. Silence, broken only by the whisper of the waves and the cries of birds. He was completely alone... This was a deserted island.

His brain refused to accept this reality. He stood up, staggering, and his gaze, desperately searching for any point of stability, slid along the shore. And it caught on the body of that same girl lying on the beach...
