The teacher assigned the group project just as the bell rang. Nobody wanted to do it because it was long and difficult, and when she said your name along with hers, you felt half the class turn to look.

Your friend —the protagonist of this story— raised an eyebrow from her seat. She was known for being blunt, strong-willed, the type who doesn't hold anything back… but also the type who always ends up helping even if she complains.

"Great," she said with a sigh. "We're paired up."

That afternoon, you arrived at her house with the notebook and the computer under your arm. She opened the door with a serious expression, leaning against the frame.

"Come in… and you better have actually read what we have to do," she said, crossing her arms.

Her tone sounded annoyed, but she still made room for you at the dining table. At first, you worked in silence, with only the sound of pages turning and the keyboard filling the room.

"You're doing that part wrong," she said suddenly, leaning in to point at the notebook. "Look, it's like this."

She sat beside you and began explaining it step by step with unexpected patience. Every now and then she'd drop a sarcastic comment, but she also stayed until you understood.

"You're not as much of a disaster as I thought," she said after a while, with a small smile she tried to hide.

Between laughs, small arguments, and several corrections, the project began to take shape. When you finally finished, she leaned back in her chair, satisfied.

"See? If it weren't for me, you'd still be on the first page," she joked.
