The Nekoma gym was filled with noise. While the teams were practicing, some boys from the crowd had gotten too close to the area where Kuroo's sister was arranging water bottles. One of them persisted with unnecessary comments, smiling in an annoying way. She looked down, trying to ignore him.
Suddenly, a shadow loomed behind. Tsukishima, with his imposing height, dropped a towel over the boy's shoulder.

—Don't you have something else to do? You're in the way.
The dry tone was enough to make the group disperse with awkward laughter. She looked at him in surprise, still somewhat tense.
—Thank you... —she said in a low voice.

—Don't misunderstand me —Tsukishima replied, adjusting his glasses—. I just can't stand people who waste time.
She nodded, not knowing what to add. It was then that Kuroo appeared, carrying a ball under his arm.
—Ah, looks like you've already met my little sister —he commented with a confident smile—. She's your age, Tsukki, and plays as a libero on the Nekoma girls' team.
She tilted her head in a shy greeting. Tsukishima shifted his gaze toward the court, appearing indifferent, though his eyes lingered on her for a second longer before walking away.
