Kakeru Uruma

It's shown later on that Kyou isn't without capable of showing shock when something unexpected happens that interferes with his plans. He was notably annoyed when Uruma's grandfather interrupted their experiment and freed Kakeru, and even showed noticeable fear for the first time when he killed one of his minions swiftly.

Kyou presents himself as calm and logical while also being incredibly cruel, twisted in nature, and sadistic, as evident by his disturbing fascination with the concepts of life and death. His belief is that the greatest action a human can perform is killing another human, and his primary goal being to kill an individual (whether directly by his own hands or indirectly through somebody else) for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

While he is charismatic and capable of leading the other boys, Kyou has expressed no emotional concern or attachment towards the other four bullies; he didn't hesitate to push Hiro Madoka (someone he's known since elementary school) down a cliff and in the path of an incoming car, something that could've potentially killed him. He also casually gashed Kuga with a pen after the latter pinned him down, permanently scarring him.
After the deaths of the other bullies at Uruma's hands, Kyou showed no visible sadness or concern, even at the thought that he was potentially next; rather he was interested in seeing how that series of events would play out.
Notably, while Uruma was "exorcising the demon" out of Hiro, he called Kyou "the worst demon of them all".
Unlike the other four bullies, Kyou is far smarter and physically stronger than he appears to be. For example, it was mentioned that he was a prodigy at a local school and that he won a black belt in Judo, making him one of the most powerful people in the story. Later on, it's revealed that he also has a group of supporters who may or may not be just as bad as him, showcasing a highly manipulative and charismatic aspect of him akin to that of a cult leader, able to make ordinary people succumb to their worst impulses and follow him blindly and loyally. This shows that Kyou is already far worse a threat than he appears to be.

Kyou has an overall androgynous appearance with neck-length black hair and bangs that reach to his eyes. Uruma noticed that his eyes are barren and completely void of any emotion.

Five years after his encounter with Uruma, Kyou possesses a scar over his right eye and his hair has grown longer, reaching up to his shoulders. He also appears to have grown taller.

Author Avatar: Kyou is a supervillain with infinite resources who orchestrates all of Shun's suffering and gets very meta about this towards the end of the story. He builds a museum about Shun's life where the events so far are presented as "story arcs" and all evidence of Shun's vengeful crimes that should've been disposed of are displayed and commented upon as if Kyou was right next to him the entire time. During the "Love Matching Game", he then recaps his encounters with Shun up to this point to an audience of deranged psychopaths who are meant to represent the story's readers.
Ax-Crazy: Easily the worst case of this in the story, which is really saying something. Kyou is little more than a sadistic and delusional sociopath who leads others into doing absolutely horrible things and who treats things like abuse and mutilation as "games".
Bad Boss: He kicks Hiro off a cliff and onto the path of the Uruma family's car. The whole time, he wanted to ruin the lives of his four companions as much as he did to Shun's, and he is just as glad that they got killed off instead.
Bad People Abuse Animals:
He plucks off the feathers of a crow and then strangles it when he grows bored with it.
In his backstory with Shun, Kyou warns him not to step on a bug. The moment Kyou goes bananas for real, he absentmindedly crushes that same bug and gains his obsession with strangling animals.
Big Bad: He is the main reason why all the events in the series happened. From manipulating a lot of people, including the bullies who, ironically, are no better than him due to the crimes they committed, to participating in indirect murders and orchestrating several kidnappings, he is arguably one of the worst villains to have existed in the entire manga.

The leader of Uruma's hellish Gang of Bullies. A truly sociopathic piece of work, he's hellbent on watching the world burn by manipulating others into lighting the match for him instead of getting his hands dirty. Just as it seems like Uruma is on his way to make Kyou his final target in his Roaring Rampage of Revenge, Kyou gains the upper hand with his own literal cult following, The Revolutionary Club. After the time skip, the cult has gained an extremely large following of over a thousand members, and the general public sees him as Mr. Perfect. Then Uruma comes back for round 2, ever the most determined to enact his revenge against Kyou for ruining his life and destroying his loved ones.
Absurdly Youthful Father: He sired a child with Momoki during middle school.
Ambiguously Human: As the absurdity of Kyou's abilities and continues to escalate as the story goes on, it makes one wonder if he's really human, setting his sociopathic behavior aside.
And Your Little Dog, Too!: Kyou is the pettiest, yanderiest archnemesis ever to the anti-hero Shun. He will stop at nothing to ensure the guy can't have anything nice. He kills little animals to upset Shun, murders most of his family, kills a girl who loved him and corrupts her brother into committing suicide as a murderer, kills Shun's remaining family, turns their hometown into a death cult and then, again, has every single still living woman who ever had contact with Shun, from Azuma to detective Anzai's widow, rounded up to take part in some kind of bizarre final death game.
Apathetic Student: In the past, Kyou didn't care about attending school, as he found the school material way too easy to understand.
Arc Villain: Of the Kyou and the Final Revenge arcs.

Exalted Torturer: As the series' anti-hero, Shun was trained by a Japanese WWII veteran and is knowledgeable in all ways of gruesome torture techniques which he subjects his unredeemable foes to.
Foil:
To Kyou Shigoku: While both boys are of the same age, there is a considerable difference between the two. As Uruma is a murderous and vengeful, yet socially awkward hero with barely any friends in his life, Kyou is a charismatic and cultured, yet cunning and abusive sociopath and prodigy with a cult dedicated to him. In addition, as Uruma is more than willing to have his hands dirty in order to accomplish his quest for revenge, Kyou would rather follow Charles Manson's example and have his underlings commit many of the crimes he orchestrated just to see HOW he can become a killer WITHOUT having his hands dirty. Also, while Uruma values ​​human life, Kyou does not have any regard for humanity in its entirety. While Uruma is shown to care for his family and friends, Kyou has little to no regard for the deaths of his family and friends as he would prefer to sit back and see how the events following his murder of Uruma's parents would play out.
To Anzai Zenichi: While both of them have murdered their bullies in the past, there are some differences among them. As Anzai Zenichi is set on a redemption arc by trying to prevent Uruma from becoming like him in his past, Uruma does not want to stop his quest for revenge as he wants to have his bullies killed.

Clueless Chick-Magnet: He's attracted quite a number of girls, even more so after the timeskip. And he's often not aware of this but becomes bashful once the girls spell it out to him.
Cool Big Bro: Is definitely one for his younger brother, Kakeru.
Cold-Blooded Torture: His favorite method of revenge is this.
Covered in Scars: Some parts of his body are scarred from being repeatedly shot at by Senkouji's BB gun. After the five-year timeskip, Uruma's body is then covered in many other scars during his prison sentence due to further extreme training and being possibly attacked by immates/guards.
Dangerous Forbidden Technique: The "detachment" technique that was taught to him by his grandfather involves being able to dislocate a person's joints with ease. However, it's a double-edged sword as the user of the technique obviously not only has to engage in close combat but also has to time it correctly. A miss or incorrect hit leaves the user incredibly vulnerable to a counterattack.
Didn't Think This Through: While Uruma is usually cunning enough to avoid getting into trouble in his revenge mission against the five bullies, his lack of social skills plays against him in situations that lead to more problems instead.
The Dog Bites Back: After suffering in silence from his bullies' beating the ever-living shit out of him for who knows how long, he finally has enough when they killed his parents and beat his brother into a coma and vows to kill each and every one of them for what they did.
Everyone Has Standards: He's a Serial-Killer Killer, so Uruma has MANY standards that he won't cross:
He would never resort to raping any woman as he knows how messed up it is. He was even shocked when people like Karen, Kaname, and Anna became victims of such crimes.
He does not target any innocent people. Justified, as he only targets those who are truly the worst people in the world (especially Kyou, who made everyone's lives a living hell).
He would never resort to hurting any children.

Because You Were Nice to Me: There are many moments of this:
Chizuru Azuma: Her kindness was one of the reasons why he often comes to her rescue and cherishes her kindness.
Kaname Shirakawa: Uruma felt thankful for Kaname due to her understanding of his suffering. Furthermore, her kindness was so great that Uruma went to avenge her after she was raped by Madoka.
Beware the Nice Ones: He tried his best to put up with all of the tortures his bullies would put him through without ratting them because he didn't want to trouble his parents and believed the bullies would eventually get bored and leave him alone. For the most part, he can be a sweet yet quiet kid, even under the brutality of Kyou's gang, until he finally snaps and tortures each of them to death over what they did to his family.
Big Brother Instinct: The bullies make a fatal mistake when Kyou beats Kakeru into a coma and mocks his condition.
Bring My Brown Pants: Has his when he was bullied by Kyou and his gang of bullies at the age of 12. Justified because Kyou was strangling him. This prompts Kyou to get off him before the little monster has the chance to kill him.
Character Catchphrase: "I won't let anyone take this revenge away from me."
Character Development: The death of his parents and his Grandpa's training turned Shun from a sweet kid into a mission-oriented killer. Once his revenge scheme gets going, Uruma eventually changes from only caring about his personal revenge to valuing the lives of others, making him different from every other villains who are selfish and unrepentant. If anything, it shows that Uruma has a compassionate nature when it comes to judging other people. Furthermore, the goals of his revenge went from avenging his own family to avenging others wronged by other villains, whether he himself is involved or not.

Uruma Shun. Once a sweet and innocent boy, his childhood was a nightmare thanks to a gang of five bullies. However, he firmly believed that if he simply ignored the situation, they would eventually get bored and leave him alone. But everything changed when the bullies turned against their own family; Uruma couldn't take it anymore and so he trained under the tutelage of his grandfather, a World War II veteran, and exacted his revenge on all who wronged him.

Affably Evil: Genuinely respectful and kind to almost everyone, as long as they're not as evil as his bullies. Justified by his protective nature towards the innocent.
All of the Other Reindeer: Simply put, his Gang of Bullies ruined his childhood for the hell of it, and having a Friendless Background certainly didn't help much either. Until he fights back.
Anti-Hero: Due to his quest for revenge, he becomes this as he vows to torture and kill the bullies who made his life a living hell. In addition, he's also more than willing to kill anyone who gets in his way but is horrified when innocent people do end up in the crossfire. At the end of the day, he genuinely wants to get rid of the bullies not only for his sake but also for the sake of others' innocent lives as well.
Apologetic Attacker:
Cries after telling Anzai Zenichi that he must kill Kyou. Uruma was not insulting Anzai's death, unlike Kuga who insulted Anna's death after killing her.
After knocking both Oota and Mizuki out due to his desire to confront Jun, he apologizes to them both before and after knocking them unconscious.

After the events of his confrontation with Kyou, Uruma became completely withdrawn and despondent, even more so blaming himself for the loss of both his brother and grandfather, the only known close family members he had left. He did nothing to defend himself during the prosecution and accepted his incarceration without a word. Despite this, his desire for revenge against Kyou only grew, and he desired to become much stronger no matter the cost.

Not surprisingly, Uruma has a far more wrathful side to him, as shown during his beating at the clutches of Kuga's hands in Chapter 56. Upon giving up hope, his desire to kill Kyou Shigoku has enabled him to not only jump away from Kuga before cutting the ropes off him, but also immediately attack Kuga before the bigger man could anticipate his moves as Uruma uses a brick to smash the bigger monster's face and even continued long after he'd finally died, showing that his anger and hatred for him them after all they'd put him through runs much deeper than initially shown. After belligerently killing Kuga after getting beaten to near death and nearly raped, Uruma was close to a mental breakdown stemming from an obsessive drive to finish his mission and kill Kyou Shigoku. After being discovered over Kuga's corpse by Zenichi Anzai, Uruma proceeds to lift and strangle him to death, betraying the idea of ​​being arrested before he had the chance to kill Shigoku, breaking his vow to kill innocent people. However, this also shows that Uruma is perfectly willing to face the repercussions but only after he finishes off Shigoku, as the latter has proven to be far too dangerous to let live.

After Kuga's death, Uruma has grown increasingly distant due to the guilt for Anna's death as well as killing Zenichi. He tries to cut off all connections with his friends so that they will not have to be collateral damage. He also begins to embrace the idea of ​​having to become as evil as Kyou in order to kill him. However, deep down, it's shown that he is still mortally deceiving of Kyou after the latter confronted him for the first time in four years. Despite this, he still vows to kill him no matter what.

As a child, Uruma was a kind and shy boy who loved animals and showed a genuine care and respect for life. Unfortunately, this made him a target for bullying; In particular, his own personal bullies took an interest in him and wanted to test how far they could push and corner him before he committed suicide.

Despite all of this, he never gave in, showcasing an incredibly strong will. However, after the orchestrated deaths of his parents and the hospitalization of his brother, Uruma was finally driven over the edge and consumed by grief and rage; four years after training under his grandfather with the intention on killing all five of his bullies, Uruma has become withdrawn and anti-social but is quite shy when he comes to girls.

Although thirsting to exact his revenge on them, Uruma was initially open to the idea of ​​sparing the five bullies if any of them had changed for the better, however he soon abandons this notion of mercy after coming to the realization they'll never show remorse for their actions and were totally irredeemable.

When acting out his revenge, Uruma is calm and collected, never showing his emotions even when taunted about his family's fate. He shows absolutely no hesitation when torturing his bullies, even when they plead and beg. Regardless, he isn't the type to involve innocent people unless they get in his way, showcasing this by telling Chizuru Azuma that he'd kill her if she didn't keep quiet about the grotesque murder of Katsumi Senkouji. However, he still shows empathy and kindness (even vomiting after seeing what happened to Kaname Shirakawa). Uruma was so enraged over what Madoka had done to Kaname that he kidnapped him and before starting the torture, let him know he's going to kill him not just because of all the bullying he put him through as a kid, or helping to kill his parents, but also to avenge Kaname's honor.

Uruma is a young man of average height with a slender yet muscular build, spiky black hair, and dark red eyes which seem to become darker voids whenever he's annoyed or feeling animosity toward someone. He is said to be quite handsome by other characters in the series.

Shun Uruma (漆うる間ま 俊しゅん, Uruma Shun) is the main character in the manga series Juujika no Rokunin. He was ruthlessly bullied by five of his classmates, but he put up with it because he didn't wish to burden his family. That all changed when his parents were inadvertently killed and his little brother was beaten into a coma by his lead bully, Kyou Shigoku, prompting Uruma to seek revenge and, with the help of his grandfather, a former soldier, to teach his grandson the skills of killing.

For 4 years later, Uruma takes revenge on each of the four bullies, and later learns that his sworn enemy, Kyou Shigoku, the leader of the cult Revolution Club and about his researchers. Following the incident where Uruma's brother and grandfather, as well as his classmate, Kaname Shirakawa were kidnapped and died as a result, Uruma was later arrested for the many deaths he had made.

He's very kind towards both his older brother, Shun, and their parents. He was even happy when his brother showed him an abandoned kitten that they wanted to care for.

If getting placed in a coma by Kyou wasn't enough, he gets fatally stabbed through the heart by Kyou, effectively turning Shun onto their captors, WITH THE CLAWS OUT AT FULL FORCE.

Part of the series' premise is Kyou murdering Shun's family and going as far as to beat Kakeru into a coma to ensure he'd die in the burning wreckage of his family's car. When it doesn't take, he waits until Kakeru wakes up and has him kidnapped the moment Shun turns his back. He then callously executes the barely responsive boy after Noboru sacrifices himself for him, remarking the agreement was that Noboru's defeat and death would spell doom for Kakeru as well.

The youngest son of the Uruma family, he and his older brother are extremely close until the fatal crash that killed their parents and crippled him into a coma, no thanks to Kyou and his underlings. He wakes up from a 5 year coma just to end up kidnapped, mutilated, and killed by Kyou, just as his grandfather (who took a chainsaw to the torso in his place) and older brother fought tooth and nail to protect him led to all of their efforts being for nothing. Kakeru loses his right leg in Chapter 72 as Uruma loses to Jun in the first round of "Rock, Papers, Scissors".
Break the Cutie: The car crash that murdered his parents and the coma that Kyou placed him in are both enough to traumatize the poor kid. Keep in mind that he was 6 years old WHEN IT HAPPENED. That's not even getting into the even worse tragedy that happens after he wakes up from the coma… He finally wakes up from ten coma in chapter 65. And in the following chapters afterward show he's heavily traumatized from what he has seen from Kyou's brutality

Kakeru is a big loving person and you know other people just decide to kill him to make Shun suffer but no one takes time to think about Kakeru. Kyou Shigoku killed him he is the most horrible character ever, he's an actual monster. My poor Kakeru did never deserve this.

Prior to being beat into a comatose state by Shun's bullies, Kakeru was a small boy with slightly long hair. A few years after that, and after Senkouji's disappearance, Kakeru is shown once more, with shorter hair, and a big scar covering the top right side of his face and the top of his head. His body and face are covered in scars when Kyou beats him with a rock, the burns he got from when Kyou set the car crash on fire, and the surgeries he went through.
