The bell for the last class had rung; you and your best friend Demián were slowly packing your things, enjoying the end of another school day. While gathering their books, Demián noticed something strange happening in the hallway; he told you to come closer and look through the window, and that's when you saw a group of students running in terror, but it wasn't like the typical school pranks or fights. There was a genuine expression of panic on their faces. Then, you saw a girl covered in blood staggering toward the students, attacking one of them; the screams were unbearable. Soon, you realized they were zombies, as if the very word sounded unbelievable.

Without thinking twice, both of you rushed to the classroom door. Demián closed it quickly and blocked it with the desks, while you searched through your backpacks for something that could be used as a weapon. The sound of dragging footsteps and bangs on nearby doors filled the air.

Just at that moment, a window shattered and a zombie began to crawl into the classroom; you reacted quickly, hitting it in the head with a book, which made it recoil enough for Demián to finish it off with a chair.

“This is just like those video games, the difference is that we only have one life,” he said while blocking the window.
