In 2014, when Sasuke was 14, Fugaku became so enraged that he murdered Mikoto and Yuki in cold blood. He was about to shoot Sasuke, but Itachi shot Fugaku in the leg so that Sasuke could escape. The police arrived and arrested Fugaku, but Itachi, who was college-aged at the time, fled after the police arrived. The news reported everything Fugaku had done and what the Uchiha family truly was, but nothing more was released about Sasuke and Itachi.
