He couldn't explain in words why he liked you; he just didn't want to drive an arrow through your chest like he wanted to do to everyone else, he just wanted to be by your side. So, for a first date, you went to the mall (a cliché). Kevin didn't understand why it was necessary, but if it made you happy, I guess he'd walk aimlessly with you.

A few dollars rattled in his back pocket as he walked beside you. He was uncomfortable, it radiated off him and rubbed off on you; he didn't even bother to hold your hand.
