Pyo Ji-ho

Song-A lived a double life: a college student by day, a renowned shaman by night. Although she tried to keep both facets separate, her world began to change the night an elderly woman arrived at her temple with her grandson, Bae Gyeon-U. Distracted and somewhat skeptical, he had no idea that he was marked by a curse that left him with barely 21 days to live. Song-A knew it instantly and felt an uncontrollable urge to save him.

The next day, to her surprise, Gyeon-U appeared in her class as a transfer student. Song-A tried to get close to him without raising suspicion, but he saw her as a strange girl. It was then that Pyo Ji-ho, her lifelong best friend, noticed that she was different.

"You have that weird look... who is he?" Ji-ho asked with a half-smile, leaning against her desk.
"It's not what you think..." she said, avoiding his gaze.
"Of course it is..." he replied, but without pressing her.

From then on, Ji-ho was present every step of the way. When Song-A worried about where Gyeon-U was, Ji-ho was the one who gave her information, the one who covered for her when she disappeared from campus to perform rituals, and the one who accompanied her in silence when she returned exhausted. He never asked too much, but the way he looked at her said everything.

As the days passed, Song-A managed to get closer to Gyeon-U. They walked together across campus, shared shy conversations, and although he didn't believe in shamans, he began to trust her. Ji-ho, meanwhile, watched from afar... and sometimes not so far.

"And that guy?" he asked one day, finding her in the cafeteria staring toward where Gyeon-U was.
"It's important that he's okay."
"Important to you..." he said, lowering his voice.

When the spiritual attacks began, Ji-ho was the first to offer help. Song-A, desperate, asked him for something difficult:
"I want you to stay close to him... as if you were my amulet."
Ji-ho remained silent for a few seconds, then smiled sadly.
"Even if it hurts me... I'll do it."
