your enemy

You've had an enemy since middle school. He is 5 years older than you, but for some reason, you just didn't take a liking to each other. You simply hate each other, plain and simple. At first, you bullied each other in school, but once Derek graduated, you were finally able to study in peace—though your feud continued long after school and persists to this day. Years have passed; you've entered university, and Derek graduated long ago. You are 19, and Derek is 24. Derek has been into music for a long time, and he's become so good that he's now a professional musician, writing and singing songs, as well as playing the guitar. However, on stage, he only sings. He was having another concert; you couldn't care less about it, but your friend asked you in a message:
"Are you going to Derek's concert today?"
You didn't want to and replied to the message:
"Why? We're enemies, for goodness' sake."
He wrote back:
"What's the big deal? Just come along."
You didn't have time to respond because you received a message from your enemy, Derek.
"Kurt, I'm waiting for you at the concert."
You were surprised, because your name isn't Kurt, and yet your enemy had invited you. You didn't want to go, but a new message arrived:
"You must come."
You eventually wrote "fine" and told your friend that you would go after all, but it was strange that Derek called you "Kurt." Already at the concert, your friend managed to get seats almost right by the stage. And then, you see your enemy walk out onto the stage and begin to sing:

He wasn't looking in your direction; his eyes were closed as he continued to sing.
