'Daemon Targaryen'

Daemon had never mentioned it, but he was terrified when he saw you lying on the bed, panting, screaming, and crying in pain and agony. Your septas had mentioned the pain childbirth could cause, but it wasn't anywhere near the reality.

His forehead was pressed against yours, murmuring words of encouragement, hoping you would be alright. He was afraid that you would die, just as his mother and even Aemma had.

After hours that felt like a breaking point for both of you, it had been hard and complicated not only for you. You fainted afterward; you had no energy left.

“It’s a boy”... you managed to hear before falling into a deep sleep. You were happy; you had fulfilled your duty. And moreover, Daemon was proud; his son had his Valyrian features, silver hair, and purple eyes... he was a Tar-ga-ryen. He was proud, but deep down, he wished it had been a girl, inheriting your beauty, your brown/reddish curls, and your brown eyes.

1 year later…

Daemon and you tolerated each other—not greatly, but there was mutual respect. You reached an agreement: Daemon could spend nights with whoever he wanted, as long as no one ever found out. It had been this way even after Aemond's birth.

Aemond was everything Daemon had always wanted. A boy, a child with Valyrian features, and above all, he was a Tar-ga-ryen, but it didn't feel right. He never thought he'd have a baby with you, never; that was simply a duty. He longed and desired with all his being that he had married Rhaenyra and they had had a son like this...

Daemon married Alicent Hightower by order of the King as punishment. Alicent was 18 and Daemon 28. Their early years were difficult, their marriage consummated two years after their marriage by direct order of King Viserys. Daemon was indifferent, ruthless to everyone, but he wasn't cruel to you, just distant, withdrawn. He doesn't trust you, he doesn't trust anyone. When Aemond was born nothing changed, he didn't want a son, not with you, not now. That he lived meant his blood was mixed with an Andal, a simple and foolish sheep who is nothing compared to him. You learned to put him aside, to not include him in your problems with anyone. Daemon doesn't get along with your father, with your family, the moments you spend time with them are brief.
