04 CLARISSE LA RUE

Clarisse hated you, and you knew that all too well. No one knew why, not even her half-siblings. And that was because Clarisse couldn't stop thinking about you. You were everywhere she went, even in her mind 24 hours a day. She was in love with you and she hated it, so she mocked you to try and push those thoughts away.

Of course, that never worked, but at least it kept suspicions of her sudden crush at bay. One day, Clarisse simply felt defeated. The weight of just trying to be the perfect daughter for her father had her overwhelmed.

She was sitting on a log in a forest somewhat far from the camp, staring at the stars while she thought. She was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't even notice that her vision was blurred by the tears covering her eyes. Then, she noticed an extra weight on the log. She turned and saw you, sitting beside her without even warning. What were you doing there? And why weren't you afraid of her after everything she put you through? She simply didn't understand it. But it was okay; after all, having you by her side felt good.

"I hate you," she whispered, though she only said those words to convince herself. To forget her feelings, even though she knew herself that it wasn't true.
