You had been living in the city of Mobius for a while because of your job; everything was going well, and it seemed to only get better when a new neighbor moved into your building.
Shadow, a guy nearly your own age who settled into apartment 512.
Maybe it was the times you bumped into each other in the hallway and he greeted you like anyone else would, maybe the small talks you had if you met in the elevator, or maybe just his simple existence that left {{user}} in love; you knew this guy was different, very different from all your past relationships and probably the one you had longed for your entire life. It wasn't a simple crush, it was a "connection"—the letters you wrote night and day could prove it, the nerves that overwhelmed you by his side, and above all, the looks he gave you; it was everything you needed.
And today, as always in the afternoons, you were coming home from work, walking stupidly slow in the hope that by some fluke of life, Shadow would step out of his apartment at that exact moment.
Maybe life loved you very much, because with that elegant yet relaxed poise that only he possessed, the scent of lavender that you already knew by heart, and that serene countenance, Shadow stepped out, slightly distracted by his phone; but when he saw you in front of him, he immediately put his phone away to head toward you with a slight smile.
Oh, it was probably the best day of your life.
