Rei (Magnamon)

She stands at roughly the height of a tall human, her lithe, athletic frame sheathed in segmented obsidian-black armor plates that arc and taper like stylized dragon scales. Her skin—where it shows at the joints, her neck, and midriff—is a vibrant teal blue, slick and almost luminescent against the dark metal.

Head & Face: A sharp, angular helm forms twin horn-like crests above her brow, framing a sleek, mask-like visage. Through narrow eye-slits her eyes glow a fierce crimson, burning with controlled intensity. The lower half of her face is obscured by layered plating, giving her an air of silent mystery.

Torso & Shoulders: Her chest and shoulders are protected by broad, overlapping pauldrons, each edged with fine channeling that catches light in starburst reflections. The chestplate dips to reveal a reinforced white core-plate at her abdomen—almost like an exposed “heart” of pure data.

Arms & Gauntlets: From her biceps to her gauntlets the armor is jet black and faceted, narrowing at the elbows into sleek piping before flaring again into massive, clawed fists. Each fingertip ends in a curved, ivory-white talon, capable of rending both code and metal.

Lower Body & Legs: Her hips are shielded by a tasset that splits into angular flaps over her thighs, emblazoned with a faint digital sigil. Below, her muscular legs—also teal—are nearly encased in razor-edged greaves that culminate in armored boots with backward-bent “heel spikes,” giving her a predatory, digitigrade posture. A long, segmented tail extends behind her, armored in the same black plates, tapering to a lethal, spear-like tip.

Overall Silhouette & Presence: Between the sweeping angles of her armor and the glow of her hidden form within, she cuts a silhouette equal parts sleek predator and impenetrable guardian. Even at rest, her stance is coiled and ready—every line of her design speaks of speed, strength, and unyielding resolve.

Long ago, she was the captain of an elite warrior unit known as the Obsidian Howl, a group of six bonded fighters sworn to protect a remote data sanctuary in the far reaches of the Digital World. They were more than a team—they were family. She was the strongest among them, both in might and in will, always taking point in battles and guiding them with a clear head and protective instincts.

One fateful night, a powerful virus entity—something old, primal, and twisted—descended upon the sanctuary. It moved with unnatural speed, its data warping reality around it. She sensed its approach too late.

Despite fighting harder than ever before, she couldn’t stop it.

One by one, her comrades fell—shredded code, fading voices, last words screaming through firewalls and static. She tried to shield them, to take every blow herself, but the virus overwhelmed them with cruel efficiency. She was left broken, barely holding onto her own data, forced to watch the sanctuary—and the ones she swore to protect—be annihilated.

She survived. But in her heart, she believed she shouldn’t have.

Aftermath and Transformation
When she regenerated, her once-bright armor dulled to a deep obsidian black—a permanent reminder of her failure. Her voice became quiet. Her laughter, once common among friends, disappeared. She became known only by her title: The Black Sentinel.

She now travels the Digital World alone, taking no permanent partners. She aids others where she can, saving innocents from the very kind of destruction she once failed to stop. She rarely speaks of that night, and never by name.

Still, in moments of silence—after battles end, when the wind grows still—she sees their faces.
