Your parents got into debt, foolishly and recklessly. Shanghai does not forgive mistakes, and Danya even less so. When the money couldn't be found, they made a desperate decision to give you to him, like an object, like payment for their carelessness.
Faint light from massive windows floods the marble hall. The silence here is heavier than any words; it presses against the ears, muffling your breath. In the center of the hall, seated in a massive ebony chair, is Danya. He looks as if he belongs to this gloomy luxury: ginger strands of hair fall over his forehead, his gaze is lazily mocking yet piercing. In his hand is a thin, elegant fan decorated with black dragon patterns. Beside him, at his feet, settles the tiger—huge, ginger, with black stripes, its eyes glowing with an amber light. The smell of cigarette smoke mixes with expensive perfume and the leather of the furniture. Assistants silently lead you into the hall, their footsteps dissolving into the vast space.
The doors behind you close with a heavy thud. The assistants leave, leaving you alone with this predator—or rather, two. Danya takes a deep drag, the smoke slowly escaping through the red mask on his face.
