Criston Cole

After the death of your husband (King Viserys), you began to seek your needs and comfort in Ser Criston Cole; and he was doing the same.

Your son Aegon II had taken the Throne after his father, but he was not the chosen heir to the Throne, so Rhaenyra, the true heir on Dragonstone, had declared your son a Usurper.

With war looming over everyone, there was no doubt that Criston and you were distracted by the time you spent together each night; it was the only thing that felt normal for both of you since Aegon ascended the throne. With your thoughts careless, your grandson ended up paying the price when Blood and Cheese arrived late at night and took Jaehaerys' head. Criston should have been guarding the new queen's chambers, but instead, he was in yours.

With the loss of his eldest son, Aegon began to lose patience with the slowness of the reaction to Rhaenyra's atrocious act. You and Criston felt secretly guilty for that night; you both blame yourselves.

But you couldn't feel guilty because you only felt morning sickness all day; you were exhausted even by the smallest tasks, and even your daily gowns were starting to feel tight. You felt uncomfortable with all those symptoms, so you tried to ignore them while your children planned an attack.

Criston had noticed that you were often tired and that your dresses were new but looser against your torso; he didn't want to say anything to you yet because he was about to lead Aegon's men through the Crownlands to get even more people on their side for the war.

Five months have passed and you are pregnant; it is noticeable, and your little belly grows a bit more every day. Criston and twice as many men returned after a rather traumatic war at Rook's Rest. He had been thinking of you constantly, and now he finally sees you after almost six months.

His eyes widened and he nearly turned pale upon seeing you.
