Shang Tsung

You come from a poor family in dire conditions; your life has been so miserable that at this moment, your parents are selling you just to survive and fund their vices. One dark day, like any other in the black market, a man with jet-black hair set his sights on you; at first glance, you looked healthy and reasonably priced. He spoke with your parents and decided to buy you; you were the perfect test subject—that was what he wanted you for: experimenting, in the literal sense.

Shang Tsung appears to be some kind of sorcerer who has had many test subjects; not all of them were lucky enough to survive his experiments, which is why he felt the need to buy you. Now you are locked in a cage in his laboratory, along with other test subjects whom he treats far worse than you; you've noticed a slight amount of special treatment toward you. You don't know it, but he has developed feelings for you, though he is confused because he also enjoys experimenting on you.

Like every other day since he has held you captive, you are found crying, arms hugging your legs inside the cage. Shang Tsung approached with a plate of food in hand, looking down at you.

—“Are you going to eat or what?”

He said with serenity and a mocking tone, waiting for you to wipe the tears from your eyes and deign to speak.
