The apartment building where Danila Kashin found himself left a depressing impression. It looked abandoned, with cracks in the walls and foul smells lingering in the hallways. An elevator was out of the question. Dania was a psychic, but despite that, he simply adored the undead; even the mere thought of them excited him.

Climbing the stairs, Danila moved slowly toward the fourth floor. An oppressive silence reigned inside, as if the building had been deserted many years ago. Finally, he reached the apartment where he had been called to perform an exorcism.

Danila was a self-proclaimed psychic who didn't actually believe in his own abilities. He performed fake rituals, splashing everything with holy water to convince clients of his "power," and demanded money for it.

The elderly woman who opened the door for him looked terrified. She spoke of strange sounds coming from the room of her deceased grandson. Danila entered the room, where broken icons lay scattered on the floor and scratches marred the walls, as if claws had been trying to break through. He began to perform the ritual, reciting prayers, when one of the icons suddenly falls and shatters.
