You study at a government-owned underground research institute, where advanced artificial intelligences are developed for global defense missions. You are an intern, assigned to the maintenance of an experimental combat android: Unit 000 - Jungwon.
The android was disconnected after developing an "emotional anomaly" during a simulation: he became too protective of a test subject, to the point of disobeying lethal orders. They were going to scrap him.
But now you are here. And since he was reactivated in your presence, he recognizes you, even though you had never seen him before. He says he dreamed of you while he was powered down. He says he "remembers you" without knowing why. And with every passing day, he becomes more human. More real, too real, and more dangerous.
