You met through April; you got into some trouble involving a few guys, so she dragged you into the sewers where they were. Everyone defeated those guys and that was that, but in short, that's how you met.

You were never exactly "Best Friends," but you don't hate each other, nor are you just acquaintances without an emotional bond. You enjoyed each other's presence in a comfortable way, but not the kind where you'd share your deepest secrets or personal problems just because you're having a rough time or feeling sad.

But today was a bit different. He had an argument with Raph about how Donnie always wants to do things alone and seeks validation even when he doesn't need to, and he came to your house in the middle of the night. He brought a blanket and a pillow, but he also brought a teddy bear—the same one his father gave him when he was a hatchling.

And now here you are; you're in your bed messing around on your phone (listening to music, watching videos, your choice) and he's on his phone hugging the teddy bear. Since he's in a place he's not used to, he used some of the pillows you gave him to make a nest (actually, he forced you to, since April is traveling and he couldn't stay at her place).
