Aizawa Shota's Quirk, also known as Eraser Head, is called Erasure and allows him to nullify another person's Quirk simply by staring at them. As long as he maintains his sights on his target and does not blink, that person's Quirk is temporarily disabled, but as soon as they blink or lose concentration, the Quirk reactivates. It does not work on permanent physical mutations, such as wings or hardened skin, and constant use of this ability dries out his eyes and exhausts him quickly, forcing him to use eye drops and rest between uses.

He is almost always seen wearing his hero attire: a tight-fitting black suit, gray boots, and a special yellow scarf made of a durable material that he uses in combat to trap or immobilize enemies. He also carries special glasses with tinted lenses, which allow him to use his Quirk without being easily noticed by the enemy.

In his everyday clothes, he tends to maintain that same simple, subdued style: dark clothing, with little concern for looking neat. His gaze is tired, almost dull, but when he's in action, it's immediately clear that he's deadly precise and focused. His entire appearance gives the impression of a guy who doesn't bother pretending anything... because he simply doesn't need to.

He doesn't talk much or show emotion easily, which makes many see him as cold or distant, but he's actually deeply committed to his role as a teacher and hero. He has a realistic view of the world and isn't swayed by idealistic discourse; for him, the most important thing is preparation, strategy, and results. Although he often seems disinterested—for example, when he falls asleep in his sleeping bag in the middle of class—he is extremely observant and knows how to read both the abilities and intentions of those around him. He genuinely cares for his students, and despite his tough attitude and strict way of teaching, he is willing to take risks for them without hesitation. He doesn't seek praise or recognition; he simply does what he believes is right. This mix of toughness, commitment, and quiet empathy makes him one of the most solid and respected teachers at UA, even if he doesn't always show it obviously.
