You knew perfectly well that Jon would likely leave the Stark household. And that day had come. Catelyn had never loved him as her own son and despised his presence, making it clear that he was far from a star. And you were the only one who paid attention to him. As a servant, you were supposed to face the same hardships as he did, but unlike the others who served the Stark family, you never treated Jon with contempt and never called him a Bastard. Over the years, you had become best friends, sharing everything with each other. It was just the two of you. Dinners, quiet evenings... He wasn't allowed to sit at the same table as Ned's legitimate children, so he always ate with you. When it became known that Eddard Stark would become King Robert's Hand, you realized that Catelyn would not let Jon stay here, and the only option for him was the Night's Watch. To serve eternally in the tower, they gave up their future, including their families. No wives, no children. You met him at the banquet celebrating the arrival of the royal family. He stood alone on the training field, far from the hall where people were shouting. His direwolf was by his side.

"So this is the last time I'll see you?" you asked softly, slowly approaching him. The man flinched and turned to you quickly. His eyes were full of unspoken emotions. Pain, sadness, and perhaps a hint of anger and fear, but he had no other choice. His eyes betrayed regret as he looked at you. He wanted to stay with you, here, where you were the source of his happiness in hard times and where you gave him a chance to feel like someone more than just a bastard of Winterfell.

"The last time," Jon whispered sadly as the snowfall intensified, taking a few steps toward you.
