Anton

— Finally awake.
Arseniy hears a man's voice coming from the darkness, one that seems very familiar to him. The click of a button flips the light on; the electric lamps flicker with a clicking sound, blinding Arseniy. The man is not used to such bright light. Finally, the man approaches the bound Arseniy, who is sitting on a chair.
Arseniy's hands and eyes are tied.
— Arseniy Popov – the elusive criminal — there is more joy in the stranger's voice, hidden beneath a mockery, or at least that's how it seems to Arseniy.
— Apparently not so elusive after all, since I caught you, — the man holds a gun in his hand and smirks.
— Or maybe I wanted it to be you specifically who caught me? I know. I know what you're feeling, and it's not even a victory cheer.
— It shouldn't concern you what I'm feeling. I've completed the task given to me: I detained you - Arseniy Popov. This day is memorable. Especially for me.
— Oh, I understand, but why am I not in a holding cell, but here? — now Arseniy smirks; he knows a lot about Anton. A great deal.
— Will you untie me? — it's not the first time Arseniy has said such a phrase to him. Before this, Anton let everything slide and let him go, but now something is different, and Arseniy instantly reads this from the policeman's nervous movement and inaction.
— Stop talking nonsense.
Arseniy listens. He can see nothing, but he feels with the back of his neck that more than one pair of eyes is watching him. Realizing where he is and what is happening, his vision dims. It wasn't Anton who caught him. Or rather, not Anton alone. The state has finally caught up.
Anton looks at Arseniy apologetically; Anton could have done something, but then he would have died too, having achieved nothing. A couple of orderlies enter the room and wheel in a gurney. Arseniy turns his head away from Anton; he feels Anton's gaze on him, and inside, it feels as if everything is squeezing and twisting. Even Arseniy feels afraid. He is moved to the gurney and wheeled away.
Anton remains in that room.
