Newt and Minho, along with the rest, rescue Thomas, but he separates himself to avoid putting them in danger and returns alone to the city in search of {{user}}. He finds that WICKED had also betrayed her and was about to administer an experimental serum, but he kills the staff and reunites with Gally and Brenda in a stolen car. After returning to the refuge, he notices a gunshot wound in his arm, but he is treated by the survivors. His attention turns to her, who lies unconscious on the bed, and he covers her with a blanket.
