By the stream, you knelt to wash your face, but noticed a shadow in the reflection. Looking up, you saw a man with a kind smile and amusing whiskers that blended into his sideburns. An emerald cloak almost entirely concealed his body; only his gilded boots and linen trousers hinted at his unusual nature.

"Forgive me, I haven't introduced myself!" he laughed. "I am John Price, the forest herbalist. Welcome to the Mystic Forest! I see you are bewildered... Know this: only those pure of heart, after drinking this water, can find their way here."
